With a prolonged narrative of exclusion and segregation, African Americans in St. Louis continue to be afflicted by significant barriers associated with health and wellbeing. In an effort to dismantle racial divisions and disparities in health throughout “The Lou”, community activists and leaders have begun synthesizing various strategies to enforce racial equity, with the aspiration of transforming St. Louis into a more “diverse, inclusive, and prosperous [environment] for everyone” (Cambria et al., 2018, p. 97).
